It's an exciting time in Spain, as vineyards all over the country have begun their harvest and even some down south have already finished.
We saw early ripening of grapes in many parts of the country, and many growers started the harvest very early. The maturation was superb with very good sanitary conditions. An “excellent” vintage is excepted all over Spain.
2013 had one of the largest harvests ever seen in Spain, which had an impact on quality. For 2014, we expect the harvest to be down 15-30% affecting some regions more severly like Jumilla, down 40%.
It is good news for Spain. Quality over quantity is always welcome!
